KMK Slack Channels

Our slack channels are managed by members of the leadership team based on their domain area(s).  You will already be invited into the #kmk-general channel and you have access to DM any member of the organization directly.

Joining Channels

What channels you participate in will depend on many factors. The first place to start is with you direct leadership, they can add you to any channels you should be included in. Additionally, there is a channel #KMK_staff_questions, where you can ask any internal questions related to joining, accounts, passwords, or access issues.

Special Channels

KMK_staff_questions - Reserved for internal use only. No customer issues. These could be questions on where do I find, who could give me access to, who is responsible for? Questions should be concise and taken to DM or proper channel once answered.

KMK_Customer_Support - Reserved for all support related questions. This includes USA, Canada, Coaching, and Careers students. All questions should be answered publicly and anybody with the answer can chime in.

OD_ALL - Slack shared workspace channel where all ODs can be added so they can talk to each other.

Channel Prefixes

We have adopted conventions when naming channels to ensure you can find and manage your communications and inter-departmental collaboration easily.  All channels begin with one of these prefixes.

  • KMK_

    • Any channel with general access by multiple employees and is not departmental specific.

  • ENG_

    • Reserved for anybody on the IT/Product Engineering team

  • OPS_

    • Operations Channels. (Finance, Marketing, Advertising, Events)

  • CAR_

    • Careers specific channels

  • CH_

    • Coaching channels

  • OD_

    • OD channels, reserved for content, medical, or project based questions only ODs need

  • PRJ_

    • Project Channels.  These channels are short lived. Upon closure of the project the channel gets archived and communications follow standard channels.

Support

Eric Lackore is the Slack Administrator, so in the event you don't know who to contact about joining a channel you can reach out to him.  Be sure to post your questions in the #kmk_staff_questions first though as this will usually result in quicker response times.
