EttiqueBest Practices

To ensure we all harness the power of virtual communications and the team functions at its best, let’s follow these universal guidelines:Slack Acknowledgments:
  • :white_check_mark: Use the green check-mark when an issue is resolved.
  • :eyes: Use the eyes emoji when you start working on a question.
  • :+1: Use the thumbs-up emoji to indicate you understand and acknowledge.
  • :exclamation: Use the exclamation mark for urgent items.
Conversation Guidelines:
  • Keep your topic (original message) focused, and ensure replies occur in threads.
  • @mention someone (type @ <name>) if you need their specific input.
  • Reserve direct messages for private conversations. Policy or support questions should be addressed publicly to keep everyone informed on processes and procedures.
  • Always be encouraging.:tada:
Finally, please limit offline communications (calls , emails , texts ) when the question could benefit the group.
If you need to relay the information to someone else, it’s best to SLACK IT.
